Tremiti Islands, the only archipelago of Adriatico, consist of five islands (San Domino, the most famous island, San Nicola, Capraia, Cretaccio, Pianosa), and reefs of very modest size. It is located in the Adriatico Sea, twelve miles off the northern coast of Gargano. The archipelago is a little piece of paradise, where the clarity of the sea, colorful and clean bottoms, pleasant climate, clean air, lush vegetation, unspoilt coastline open to beautiful bays and coves, create zones of an ethereal beauty which no lover of the sea and nature should resist. Although small in extent, Tremiti Islands offer an amazing collection of environmental situations, that you would expect to find in an area of much larger size. In about 20 km of coast the most significant morphologies are represented: low coasts with sandy beaches, bays and capes, rocky coastline with high cliffs overlooking the sea.
